From 30 Seconds to 10 Minutes: MegaObby Launch Results

This week, we saw 913 game releases and the initial results of our big experiment on CrazyGames, which we mentioned to you recently.
To recap, we developed MegaObby specifically for this gaming portal, a game with over three hours of gameplay. CrazyGames provided us with additional featuring for this release so we could gather new data from large user cohorts. MegaObby launched on CrazyGames on July 16th. Since then, around 200,000 players have played MegaObby. The experiment's results are quite intriguing. Before the start, 50% of players played between 30 seconds to 5 minutes. With the introduction of longer gameplay, new player cohorts emerged. The graph shows that 20% of players now play for over 5 minutes, and 10% continue playing beyond 10 minutes. We can see a significant increase in engagement thanks to the new gameplay, as the cohort of players who play for less than 30 seconds has decreased.
Why is this important? Longer gameplay indicates strong player interest; they are willing to spend time on Megamod games. The time spent in the game and the achievements reached positively impact retention rates, which have doubled. The more time players spend in the game, the more opportunities developers have to engage with the audience.
The experiment continues! And we'll keep you updated.
And one last call for the Mobile Games Awards: Megamod has been shortlisted in the Best Game Engine/Creation Platform category. The vote has been extended until July 26th, so there are just a few hours left to support us with your vote. We appreciate your care! Here’s the link to vote: Mobile Games Awards Voting.
