Next week marks two years since we started scouting and training creators for Megamod — a journey that has shaped the soul of our platform.
In 2022, we launched our first recruiting and onboarding campaigns. Back then, our approach was hands-on and high-volume — focused on building a large, scalable team to feed the demand for content. But as Megamod matured, so did our philosophy.
Over the past two years, more than 5,200 creators have gone through our onboarding — together, they’ve built over 86,000 games.
Today, our focus is retention, not recruitment. We maintain a dedicated team across all regions — motivated enthusiasts who are passionate about creating games and deeply understand our tools, our vision, and what players need.
Here’s how our onboarding has transformed:
Instant jumpstart. New applicants now receive fast-track access to all essential materials and tutorials. They complete a test task autonomously — only those who pass move on to work closely with a creator team lead.
Real-world immersion. Creators jump straight into the game editor, learning by doing. We pay for their first 10 games regardless of quality to support their early journey and build confidence.
Selective funnel. Our new system filters out the unmotivated early on — fewer proceed past the test task, but almost all who do, stay. This allows leads to invest time only in those who are truly committed.
Deep integration. Weekly strategy calls, project news digests, and personal invites from our leadership help creators understand where their games go and why they matter.
Motivation & feedback. Our Creator Challenge rewards consistent effort with bonus payments. Weekly review sessions break down what’s working — and what could be improved — game by game.
This refined system gives us a solid core of high-caliber creators — not just to produce quality games for distribution, but also to lead partner projects like branded worlds for big events and beyond.
Two years in, the numbers speak for themselves. Old funnel: 80% applied → 30% completed test task → 3% stayed New funnel: 3% complete the test task — and nearly all stay
The result? Less time wasted. More talent nurtured. And creators who are here to stay.
